Horseriding Tasmania
We’re situated about 1 hour east of Hobart and approximately 15 minutes from the east coast. It is easy to reach from Orford and Sorell via Buckland, no 4WD required for the roads.
Located in Southern Tasmania, Horse Riding Tasmania is more than just Trail rides through stunning forest and countryside. Owned and Operated by Sharon, Horse Riding Tasmania offers a number of fantastic experiences for all ages and abilities.
With over 30 years of experience, Sharon offers a unique hands on connection between her horses and the rider. She was even selected to join the Australian Olympic Dressage Training B Squad with ‘Gilbachtal Marmion’ in 1990, and has competed in and won numerous championships in eventing, showjumping and dressage. Her passion and warmth make her one of Australia's leading horse trainers, teachers and trail guides.
As an Executive Committee member of Horse Safety Australia, a mother of four, and specialised in teaching children from special needs to gifted and nervous beginners, you can guarantee a ride or lesson with Sharon is an experience you wont forget.
Trail Rides:
BUSH RIDES: Tin Pot Creek Ride is a glorious scenic bush ride past Lion Rock with an exciting descent down into the creek - 2.5 hour ride. Bluff River Gorge Ride is lovely bush ride with plenty of trot and canter spots and views of incredible sandstone caves and cliffs. 3 hour ride. $165 pp
BEACH RIDES: Enjoy the romance and sound of surf, the sand, shells and bird life on our 7Mile Beach Surf and Turf Ride. A 2 hour ride for $250 pp or a 3 hour ride for $300 pp.
MULTI-DAY RIDES: A combination of any of the Bush Rides or Beach Ride – add $50 pp for accommodation and food. Exclusive to your group add $300 Guided 6 hour bush walk. Bluff River Gorge $250pp. Multi Day stays can also incorporate Day trips to MONA, Mt Wellington and Salamanca.
Lessons
Many of Sharon's students reach state level in dressage and showjumping, and her commitment to the bond between horse and rider has made her a highly sought after judge and teacher across the country. Based near Sorell, Sharon offers her school horses for onsite lessons, suitable for any level rider. If you have a gifted child Sharon encourages you to come along for lessons.
Lessons are available from:
Group Lessons: $40 pp for 1-hour group lessons for regular riders
Individual Lessons: $50 pp for 45 minute individual lessons for regular riders
First lesson is $75 and is 1 hour including induction
